Very good points Margaret.

For agents it is always good to go to auction as they only have to do open homes for 4 weeks and then hopefully they get a sale. They then will have an opening to fit another open home in. Auctions were not very good for vendors when the market was bad, but with a lack of properties at the moment auctions seem to be a good way of selling and getting more than one bidder. If the market changes though things could be different. So a good agent adapts to the current market conditions with their methods of marketing.

I agree with you on the signs Margaret and I have impressed passers by when i get out my level to make sure it is straight.

I went to Pegasus yesterday to put up a sign. All the other signs are just signs with the company, salesperson and ID number on. As they are advertising sections the sign is just an indicator that you have reached the section you are looking for. On our sign we put on it "one of the biggest sections no builder ties". If people are just driving around looking at lots of sections where boundries are unclear you need to make yours stand out and get people interested who would have normally just driven on.

It is also funny that if I do a search on google imagess for large pictures, 50% of them are for my section.

Get out there, get working harder and get seen.

Thanks for Commenting James,
It is an interesting market at the moment. The general feel I get when looking around other agent blogs is that generally Salespeople are a little surprised at the seemingly quick recovery, or if not a recovery as such certainly a return to active levels of buying and selling.
It would make a good cartoon, Real estate agents poking there head out of a bunker with smoke and dust flying around with the comment "Is that it" (wish I could draw).
There is still tough times ahead for the local and global economy so it will be interesting to see how that effects, or doesn't effect, our local market.
